Bright Comet approaching in May 2024, predicted to be a daylight comet in Sept 2024. Will be best seen in southern hemisphere at closest approach in the early morning sky. Predicted to be the largest visible comet in over 40 years. Calculated to have an orbital period in millions of years. The gas tail is approx 3.4 million kms in length. At date of image capture the comet was 264 million kms from Earth at around 10th Magnitude. Imaged with a Meade SCT 12" at f/10 and QHY168C cooled to -10 deg C, using a Baader Neodymium Moon and Skyglow filter to block the moon glow on a 98.8% moon phase. This is a stacked image of 19 x 60sec subs, processed on Affinity Photo.
